‘Just the ticket’ is one of a very few of our originals which exists in two versions. While featuring exactly the same design, the unique hand-cut nature of our art means that each version is subtly different to the other. Both designs involve some of the most complex cutting of any of our originals in the ‘Slice Of Life 2014’ exhibition and were amongst the most time consuming to do, given the degree of detail involved in the design.

And as with all our papercuts, it’s not just a matter of deciding what to include in each design, it’s very much a matter of what to leave out and understanding what won’t work in terms of the rigid demands of creating a fully connected design. The result is two of the largest papercuts in our ‘Slice of Life’ collection, which combined with their unique verse, reveal some of the different lives this fascinating building has lived.

Version 2 is an A2 sized, white on black one-off signed by the artists, but float-mounted between two pieces of glass which casts a shadow on the archival quality back mountboard. It is framed in a black, solid wood custom-made box frame.
